What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? Being a successful independent artist!
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far? Finances!!! It’s not easy being an independent artist!!!
How do you go about writing a song? Do you have a melody in
your head and then write the other music for it or what’s Your typical
songwriting process? I don’t have a particular process or format that I use when songwriting. I can be doing anything or simply nothing, & a song may come to me. I’ll hum & record the melody for memory, then pick up thunder (my bass guitar) because I learned music on the bass clef (trombone) & start adding lyrics in my head, & record again for memory, & when I think I want to record a certain song I’ll go over it again and again, add the change (bridge) add changes then when I’m ready to record, I record
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business? In a way it has leveled the playing field somewhat. It allows your music to be heard by the world! It gives listeners a choice. An audience knows what they like & what they want to hear & the internet might even have someone to listen & like my music/songs!!!
List some famous musicians currently on your playlist? All the greats! I simply like a good song regardless of the artists or genre!!!
What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music? Get an education & work!
Would you have any advice for young people wanting to follow
in your footsteps? Be yourself/Believe in yourself/Be patient/Don’t be afraid to grow, because everything that one knows other than trial & error we learned from someone!/Self doubt & fear is natural/Don’t linger in self pity/Be confident not arrogant! One comes down a mountain much quicker as opposed to climbing it/ Be persistent & don’t give up on yourself & your dream/Practice makes perfect!!!
you could change anything about the music industry, what would it be? Allow more artist freedom, pay percentage, & keeping the door open to all! Some have it, some don’t!!!
How do you feel about originality? I believe in originality! We all have different gifts & everyone has something to offer. Be yourself because you’re unique and there’s only one of you!!!
