What Is Your Ultimate Goal In The Music Industry? Wow, there are so many things that I would like to accomplish; like, release full project of songs that I have written through the years. I want to travel and share the good news of Jesus Christ through song. I want to song write for other artist and anything else that would allow me to do what I love to do through music.
What Has Been The Biggest Challenge In Your Career Thus Far? As an Indie Artist… resources is always the biggest challenge. That includes money, people, knowledge (not knowing what you need or what to do, but it’s part of the process), exposure and opportunities.
My in the face challenge at the moment is putting together a band! A band to gel with, minister with, grow with and become a family!!
what’s Your typical
songwriting process? I am mostly inspired by the goodness of God.
Yes, I have bad challenging days like the next person and I bring them to Jesus and from there a lot of my songs are birth. That’s why I say the good of God. When a situation seems hopeless, i feel down and discouraged… I feel inspired when I read my Bible and when I pray (just talking with Jesus)… songs come forth.
It usually starts with the chorus of the song. I always have the lyric and the melody. Sometimes I can finish song same day, but most times I come back to it later and piece it together. It can be days or months later. Because of this process… i capture the entire process on voice recorder.
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business? The internet has change the music industry in a major way. Gone are the days of waiting months to get new muic from your favorite artist. Anyone can go viral at any given time without a recording deal. We are so conditioned to have this quick, that releasing singles has become the way to release music on multiple digital platforms at he same time. Independent artists have the same opportunity for exposure, may not have all the financial backing of a label, but internet offer the same exposure for everyone.

I listen to a lot of Gospel Artist from Africa, like Benjamin Dube, Mmatema and Mercy Chinwo to name a few.
What Did You Do Before You Started Making Music? I have always worked in the Customer Service Industry for over 25 years. You gotta live eat and pay bills while doing music! Lol! Life doesn’t stop… but God… His Grace and Mercy
Would you have any advice for young people wanting to follow
in your footsteps? Your passion and love for what you will keep you going, professionally or hobbie..Hobbie… you have to love what you do.
As a Christian who is a singer-songwriter… never lose focus on why you are doing what you do and like it reads in Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
If you could change anything about the music industry, what would it be? It’s change sonmuch.. more opportunities for Indie Artist. Can’t think of anything at the moment…
How do you feel about originality? Originality is essential to creativity. We are not all the same the the arts must relect that.
